Hello :-)
Another noob question lol
Most laptops and a few external webcams have an indication light of some sort, so the user knows when the camera is on (or is it a flashlight for seeing in the dark? Too small for that, I guess indication only).
I currently have no such webcam to test by myself. My question is ofcourse does webcam spy function in RATs (DC/CG) turns on this light while I watch? If so, this is a bit of a tipoff lol

Yes it does, or atleast I think it does. Because when I used to rat some people like looked straight at the webcam like it was doing something so it must be turning a light on.

The electricity to activate the webcam also runs through the light, activating it to let the user know when it's on/off
Is not for an actual light to provide light to see, the screen does that in the dark, the webcam would be very ineffective
That's why many users will lean forward, see the light is on, and if they're smart enough, cover it
Some turn a blind eye because well, people aren't knowledgeable about these topics and what a RAT can do

Yea, id say about 60% of all webcams will light ON-LED and the slave will be aware, most will start their webcam program to see what is wrong, reboot or cover it
Some webcams have covers or physical activate buttons, so its impossible to see anything without them activating it

Yes it turns the warning LED on. I don't think you can deactivate the function easily.

It does and you cant anyhow turn it off, but most of people will think its their crappy computer broken again, look strange for a few minutes and then ignore it, because they have no idea whats going on :)

Obviously. If you have every used it, people look straight at it, like "What the fuck is this black magic?!". What I recommend is studying what laptops have a LED indicator, then check what computer they are using. Good luck.

Yes,it is going to enable it because the webcam is being used.
