Spiders - NewPast - Sep 16, 2012

I was just wondering if the use of spiders is legal.

Define "spiders".
Google uses spiders to index its search results and I don't see how that is illegal.

For instance if I were to use webshag on its websites to see its contents.

No, I don't see how that would be illegal.
