Make the Request for Hacking Section L33t/Ub3r or Close it. - Analog- - Sep 19, 2012 https://hackforums.net/forumdisplay.php?fid=48 If you look at the section right now, it's a bunch of brand new members begging for someone to DDoS a website because the admin banned them or some other skiddish thing like that. Then the replies are people raising their post count by saying "we are not your personal army you gotta be HQ before you get anything etc..." I think to fix it Omni should make it L33t or higher, or just close the section. It's in a sad state right now. * - Rage™ - Sep 19, 2012 I agree with this. Although, I think l33ts or Ub3rs would post in the VIP area. But good idea. * - Nonon Jakuzure - Sep 19, 2012 Wipe the section, and make it exclusive to upgraded members. Filter the phrase, "we are not your personal army". I agree even though I hardly visit. * - Premortal - Sep 19, 2012 I think that section may be the main reason some people sign up for HF -_- * - The Fro - Sep 19, 2012 (Sep 19, 2012 05:13 PM)zZParadoxZz Wrote: I think that section may be the main reason some people sign up for HF -_- Precisely this. It's where I posted my very first post / thread. * - Sam Fisher - Sep 19, 2012 This idea has been proposed in the past and it was rejected. * - Analog- - Sep 19, 2012 (Sep 19, 2012 05:18 PM)Valderino Wrote: Precisely this. I searched this section, and only got these two threads. https://hackforums.net/showthread.php?tid=2242939&highlight=request+for+hacking https://hackforums.net/showthread.php?tid=2223689&highlight=request+for+hacking So I stand by my suggestion. * - Maghbool - Sep 19, 2012 There are a lot of old regular members here who don't have a PayPal account. Plus a lot of there freedom have been token away already, I remember a year ago when regulars could of had avatars, signatures with images, post in any section except VIP, and other things Omni took away. It's as though you're giving them no choice but to get l33t some way. * - • ℛ • - Sep 19, 2012 Correct me if I'm wrong but: Hasn't Omni said he won't make anymore restrictions based on a persons account? * - PackTheMoon - Sep 19, 2012 8. Member Restrictions. HF will not be taking suggestions for new restrictions on the site based on post count, registration date, or reputation. * - Chelsea Monday - Sep 19, 2012 I understand where you are coming from, but the easiest way not to get pissed off by the relentless begging in that thread is simply to avoid it. And, I am sure there must be some people who do start their Hf careers there and eventually educate themselves and become contributors to the forum. * - Greyersting - Sep 19, 2012 (Sep 19, 2012 07:41 PM)PackTheMoon Wrote: 8. This isn't about post count, registration, or reputation though. It's about l33t/ub3r status. * - The Fro - Sep 20, 2012 (Sep 19, 2012 05:25 PM)-Analog- Wrote: Precisely why it should be L33t and higher. If I wasn't able to post a thread after spending 5 minutes signing up to a forum because I didn't pay $19, I would have left and never come back. Without a doubt it's probably the section that gets most of HF's newcomer traffic, the entirety of which would be classified as non-upgraded members. * - 'An0ny - Sep 20, 2012 How would making L33t help? They could simply buy l33t same day as they joined? Lol.. Rather require 500-300 post to post a reply or thread in that section. as we can't <-- omni's rules lol * - The Fro - Sep 20, 2012 Additionally, why not just report posts as 'Low Quality' that seem like copy and paste messages? |
