Read data from program -> VB.Net program - ΔDemon - Oct 1, 2012 ![]() Hey people, been a while. My laptop died. Long story. Is it possible to read the data from a program, e.g., from a program's listbox and have your VB.Net program read it. Also to take data from another program, like if it has a song loaded to transfer the song from your app. Thanks in advance. * - carrot223 - Oct 2, 2012 Yes, its a pain in the arse though. Have a into uiAutomation and pInvoke * - BlackCap - Oct 2, 2012 It is highly possible, but as carrot223 sayed, it's a pain in the ass. You can read it from the memory, you could get it if the listbox/label is a control throught the GetText API call in some cases, ORC, could be the application have API support; look it up. EDIT: If it loads a file you could monitor it's API calls and find out which file. If it gets stuff from the internet you could sniff it. * - ΜTN© - Oct 2, 2012 I am not sure but to read data you will need io.readallbytes * - ΔDemon - Oct 2, 2012 Thanks guys, I'll take a look into it. |
