Understanding Wireless Security (The basic's of cracking wireless) - HackRain - Oct 7, 2012 Understanding Wireless Security Just a quick write up for those who want to learn how to hack wireless But dont even understand what the security is, and how it work's. This isnt a tutorial, just some simple fact's to help out. I'n wireless security , in the most basic of understanding there is two basic security types. Code WEP (wired equivalent privacy)Code WPA (Wireless Protected Access)When cracking wireless, this is the bottom lie fundamental you will need to understand. So as a hacker, you must be able to identify the encryption your going to crack, to receive the "key" After, you learn how to crack && identify WPA && WEP Your next step is to understand The different types and branch off's ov WEP && WPA EG . Code WPA -tkipFor all the tutorials here at hack forum's, you will only need to learn how to identify the security as WEP or WPA/WPA2 After this has been achieved, and your understanding is greater, id recommend you understand what WPS is, and how it can be exploited. Keep in mind, it is much greater to learn as much as you can. understanding the basic's is essential. no need to overwhelm yourself. there is much to learn, and id suggest making it your best effort's to learn as much as you can about everything at a controlled pace. Learning to identify security, is a great start! * - TheGrayAviator - Oct 8, 2012 Nice work PandaSec and if I may, these videos will serve as a guide and tutorial, for those who don't quite understand how to identify the encryption type and how to crack it. http://www.securitytube.net/tags/megaprimer * - saak2000 - Oct 9, 2012 Understanding wireless very important, i spent over a year learning about wireless and all attacks on WEP and WPA, and how it really works, learning what's packets, frames bits ex.. use Wireshark it will help, done bit of exploitation but not much, i believe understanding wireless and master it is the point where to start, plus instead of asking idiot questions just google it or there is a Search bar on the top, sense i have been on HF i have seen some members asking about exploitation question and they don't even know how to hack a WEP, anyway am big fun of wireless and love this section, plus we have PandaSec as WiFi moderator who is really hand on, i leaned a lot from him and other serious member on here as well, thank you all * - HackRain - Oct 9, 2012 Thanks for the kind word's Saak
Im glad you have taken something from everything we put into this sub forum. ^.^ * - JAHASH - Oct 10, 2012 this is very educative..thanx a lot ัPandaŠec...keep the good work up * - Cryboy - Apr 17, 2013 What if I just check my wireless network list, and when I hover over a network by mouse it shows me security type... WPA2-PSK WEP WPA-PSK etc..? * - HackRain - Apr 17, 2013 (Apr 17, 2013 12:48 PM)Cryboy Wrote: What if I just check my wireless network list, and when I hover over a network by mouse it shows me security type... Is this meant to be a question? Can you please re-evaluate what you are asking? * - Danbo - May 12, 2013 Thanks Panda, I've always been interested in the art of hacking but I've only messed around with CMD to make myself feel good... I know how to do simple things like grab IPs through various programs (Xbox, Skype, WiFi) and then Shell Boot them, but I want to really get down to the more difficult and "fun" stuff. I'm just not sure where to start. I guess I'll take your advice and start learning about Wireless hacking, but I need to have a goal for myself so I can learn all about one section at a time as I do it... I'd like to be able to shut off Wifis for a long time or somehow get onto school networks using an admin account (with limited permissions) that I guessed the password of (LOL)... But I just don't know how to do all that, and I don't know where to learn how. Any ideas/tutorials you can show me? * - pripatel - Jun 11, 2013 Thank you for the information, this is good for beginners in wireless hacking :) |
