Don't Trim [CODE] Content - Jire - Oct 13, 2012 I think that there shouldn't be trimming in content between the code tags. This is a problem when writing code with indentation: For example: Code while (true) {Also with numbers in code, for example 55/55/55 (ignore the /'s, they are there to stop it from formatting) turns into 55 * - Mr Kewl - Oct 14, 2012 Not a bad idea, same thing should also be done for images or this limitation should be removed completely. I understand it is for stopping lqps, but we can always report them. * - Baked - Oct 14, 2012 I agree with this suggestion fully. But unsure on how it'd be implemented. * - iVision - Oct 14, 2012 (Oct 13, 2012 11:54 PM)Whom Wrote: I think that there shouldn't be trimming in content between the code tags. Do you mean that all tabs and spaces are gone? If so I agree totally, its very anoying if you post code and the whole format is gone. * - Mohatu - Oct 14, 2012 I agree with this. Posting neat code is a nightmare of invisible characters and copy paste tabs. * - Phaxol - Oct 14, 2012 Totally support this idea. it gets annoying sometimes if you have repeating characters and it formats it. I hate it. * - Immortal - Oct 14, 2012 I am pro this idea it would help out alot :D * - Jire - Oct 14, 2012 Thanks for your support guys, I hope to see this implemented in the forum :-P * - Phytrix - Oct 15, 2012 Well... I'm against this. What about when people date things? I constantly date activity checks/reviews for Rhythm, threads when I post my articles for the news in Writers, etc. * - _DeNy - Oct 15, 2012 (Oct 15, 2012 04:22 AM)Phytrix Wrote: Well... I'm against this. What does that have to do with the white-space/repeat-character trimming? If anything, this would solve a lot of problems that users are having. /support * - Jae - Oct 15, 2012 Have my support. I have to paste my code into my Pastebin instead so it's formatted correctly. * - BaussHacker - Oct 15, 2012 (Oct 15, 2012 04:22 AM)Phytrix Wrote: Well... I'm against this. That has nothing with formatting the things in the code tags. The code tag is for codes and nothing else. I agree with this and whitespace is important to some languages, especially Python. * - Omniscient - Oct 15, 2012 In theory it sounds nice but practically I think it can be a source for abuse. * - BaussHacker - Oct 15, 2012 (Oct 15, 2012 02:48 PM)Omniscient Wrote: In theory it sounds nice but practically I think it can be a source for abuse. Another thing to do it then. Make code tags not count towards the character counting in posts. That way there isn't too much it can be abused with ^_^ * - Jire - Oct 15, 2012 (Oct 15, 2012 02:48 PM)Omniscient Wrote: In theory it sounds nice but practically I think it can be a source for abuse. What are some abuses people could do? |
