How to install a OS in Vbox - Terry A. Davis - Nov 7, 2012
Hello, and welcome to part 2 (VMware can be found here) of my guides to setting up virtual machines.
First of all we should grab Virtual Box.
One difference between VMware and Virtual Box needs USB drivers to load USB objects, if you want them you can get them here
If your ready lets begin. First click "New"

Then name it and choose the OS that is going to be installed.

Set the amount of RAM you want in your virtual Machine

You will need to create a new hard drive so make sure the following is checked

Now to choose the type of hard drive I would just go with VDI I have never seen a difference.

Now we either want to choose fixed size or dynamically allocated for speed sake I will use dynamically but this is "slow" so to speak as it creates the drive when needed it is better to used fixed as shown

Now choose the Hard drive space 10gb is more than enough for now

After it has all been set up, you will be presented with this

Now we want to assign what ISO we are going to use, hover over "storage" when it turns blue double/single click you will get this screen

Down the bottom click add attachment you will choose CD/DVD

A pop up will come up choose it now, and navagate to your ISO file then add it and click OK. Press the big green start arrow to power on your machine, and your done. Follow your OS's installation instructions
