I feel as if you shouldn't be allowed to use the Join Group button but remove it. Then if group leaders feel as if somebody is worthy of applying there should be a "You are eligible to apply" button or maybe a variation of the two. This can make less of a confusion of people applying to groups and getting black listed because that is a big newb mistake. It happened to me :(

Everyone should have the option to apply.
It's down to the leader whether they get accepted.

The button should be removed, seeing as you must apply through the group section.
I unknowingly applied for a group this way and was blacklisted too, I think.

I agree with this, Omniscient should remove the ability for users to apply for a group through the UserCP, to prevent these mistakes from occurring. Applying from the Group and Crew General Discussions section is better and more efficient.
But, as the Help Documents state, he doesn't take layout suggestions.

If I'm correct Omni is going to work on something regarding groups and the way leaders maintain them (I could be wrong, but it's what I just remember being said before.)
