Is there a key logger that I can put onto a usb and make it auto run when the usb is plugged in? It also needs to run without anyone knowing and stay there when the usb is unplugged.

Hmm, That is what I am looking for as well. My friend at school said something about thta on his USB, I will ask him and then I will get back to you. Or if any one else knows how, That could help!

I don't believe there's the ability to autorun when plugged in for USB drives or thumbdrive based virii would spread like wildfire. The most you can do is have a modified autorun.inf file within the drive (get a copy from a thumbdrive virus) which will replace the 'Open' and 'Explore' features on the drive with a link to the .exe file. That way, when the drive is double-clicked in My Computer or even when the user right clicks and selects 'Explore', the keylogger will activate. The only safe way to view the contents of the drive would be to type the drive letter (F:\ , G:\) in the address bar and navigate to it that way.

There are certain basic options such as Open and Explore that are available when you right click on a USB drive. But, wouldn’t it be cool to add your own? You can using a couple of lines in the autorun.inf file.

Refer to the 'Adding context menu items' section. Adding your own context menu with the same name as the default Windows opens (Open, Explore) will replace the default function with whatever you want if I'm not mistaken.

That's how USB virii work anyway.
