Year of DDOS - Omniscient - Feb 21, 2013

That's the past year of bandwidth. As you can see the past 3-5 months we've seen increased attacks to the site. In the summer we actually had a relatively quiet time. From Feb 2012-June 2012 we had regular attacks.

However the past few months some butthurt people are really intent on attacking the site. Overall they are not effective but they do disrupt the site long enough for people to notice.

I announced some changes a couple months ago where I mentioned that I'll be purchasing new servers for setup. Well this morning I spoke with a new datacenter. We may not move but what I might do is hedge our serving to two or even three datacenters.

Some additional code has to be written to make sure what HF does remains working. I'll have to setup and secure these additional servers as well. I do not rent managed servers. I self manage the entire HF setup. So it takes up some of my time making sure we're operational.

I expect within 60 days that these style attacks will be greatly diminished because we'll increase our mitigation making attacks of these nature pointless.

I knew eventually I would need to take this next step so this isn't unexpected or unplanned. The hard part is not the implementation though. The hard part is actually just finding the spare time to build all this up. But looking at the chart for bandwidth and seeing how much attacks have increased I think I'm left with no option but to get this done asap.

Thanks.

Wow that's crazy.
Now that explains why HF is down sometimes.

Hope you find a solution for this :)

* - Capps - Feb 21, 2013

Wow, that's insane amount of bandwidth.

* - νιятυαℓнα¢кєя - Feb 21, 2013

Seems like HF has a lot of haters. Judging by its fame, it should have haters. Glad to know that you have worked things out.

* - Professor Z - Feb 21, 2013

These fucking skiddish retards.. I swear. Seriously. Who the fuck DDoSes one of the internet's most popular sites? For e-fame?

* - A Fucking Loser - Feb 21, 2013

I sent you an email about the site being down, was down like 5 minutes ago again.

Hope its back up soon brother!

* - Anchor - Feb 21, 2013

Such skids. Thanks for trying to recover HF Omni.

* - Positive - Feb 21, 2013

Holy crap -- you must have done something to piss off the DDoS Nazis or something.
Thanks for the news and good luck getting this all set up.

* - Froggy - Feb 21, 2013

Happy to know that you are doing your best to provide us with minimal downtime.

* - Pіkachu - Feb 21, 2013

Is it not with booters bought from this site? Would banning the sales or talk of them prevent this?

* - King Cairo - Feb 21, 2013

WTF did we do? Someone must have been taking his ban too serious.

* - T3h Hack3r - Feb 21, 2013

Thanks for the insight. I'd assume that most users that DDOS hackforums are those individuals that are but hurt on the actions that staff have taken or are ban evaders that have been caught on one of their many accounts. With that said you shouldn't rule out the average user that bought their newly formed booter. 🤣

Best of luck with the upgrade process. 😉

* - WinRAR™ - Feb 21, 2013

Hey, was this the thing that you said will be worth waiting for?

Thanks for all the work you have done, glad to see you're motivated to get it to 0 downtime.

* - Tutelary - Feb 21, 2013

I'm glad Omni is working with haste in order to solve the problem, like a good owner should.

* - Infinitе - Feb 21, 2013

Wow that's a lot of DDoS going on.

I wish there was a way to just get rid of it, however I doubt that such a protection exists. Just going to have to wait for the mad kids to calm down.
