[PREVIEW] My Theme Repo - ᒪeumonic - Mar 8, 2013

I know EVERYONE hates theme archives, but I figured I would waste my time creating one for all of the themes I release as an easy place to get them. This will only be a repository of MY themes, so I will not be taking requests for themes to be added.

Anyway, I did this so that people wouldn't have to deal with the bullshit of reading through all of the HackForums crap to get to a theme they wanted and I wanted to see how easily this could be created. This is not a static program; it will read from a database that I host personally, so you only have to open the application to check for new themes.

Anyway, enough mindless banter; here is my shitty, done-anyway-because-it-was-late-and-I-was-bored, easy-as-fuck-to-make theme repository using PHP, MySQLi, and VB.net.

I will most likely release it tomorrow when I can get the database moved over from a local to remote location.

Sorry for wasting your time, HackForums.

I will be completely releasing the source code for this if requested. I have nothing to hide in it and made it extremely easy to edit for users.

Looks nice dude, keep it up.

I'm just now learning how to code :)

I was also trying to make something similar to this but won't be releashing it as you will release your own... Anyways, good luck and keep up the good work!

Yours would work, but I would recommend getting rid of the ListBox and use the ListView. Resizable and everything; sortable.

Looks very nice, would like to see the source, to read and learn from how the downloading and HTML integration works.

Looking forward to the release of this.

Thanks for the advice. I will certainly do.

Well this is a really easy to play with little source code. I coded a PHP back panel and a VB.net front-end so you can easily add a new theme to the database and have the application immediately reflect your change. It even has a setting to change the site it connects to for the database; you can tell it not to connect to my site or connect somewhere else/to someone elses repo. (I might even make this accept multiple sites and download from all of them - assuming they're formed the same way.)

"MySQLi" ?
You used SQL injection to make your program ? Lol'd

It will be useful, it's a pain to search through all the forum everytime you want a damn theme.

I think OP means mysqli_*. It's a php extension like PDO, and is used to connect and interact with a mysql database.

I quite like theme archives, easy to find themes, even if usually there aren't many good ones. I like the idea you have here with it connecting to a database and having it pull from the internet. I'd really like to look at the source code too, I could really learn something with your use of threading and interacting with SQL databases

He's made 10 posts in the past 10 minutes all saying similar things so I'd agree, I reported it so I guess the staff will sort it out.
