Tracking Cookies - Poppet - Mar 12, 2013 Hi, When I initiate a virus scan my system always detects around 2-3 tracking cookies, is this a bad thing? I'm not familiar with tracking cookies but can they harm my system or infect it? Thanks. * - Wafflemonger - Mar 13, 2013 Tracking cookies are not malware or viruses or any other sort of malicious software. All it does is track your browsing history. Don't worry about them. You can safely remove them or leave them. * - Corso - Mar 13, 2013 Many systems will not even show those results, as tracking cookies are not classified as real malicious software. However, it's nice to keep your cookies/cache/temp files clean... So go ahead and remove them, it will not harm the machine for sure. |
