Framework or no framework? - Paradigm. - Mar 18, 2013 What do you guys recommend? I've never used one before. If you suggest I use one what do you suggest? * - SIM-1419016 - Mar 18, 2013 I, like you, have never used a framework as well. I wonder if it would make everything easier. I guess the best way would be to use your own framework. You'd be able to customize everything without a hassle. * - CarrotMilk - Mar 18, 2013 You don't need a framework for everything. Or anything. Well, most of the time you shouldn't use a framework; too much overhead. Only for larger projects/full sites. If you're going to learn a framework, make sure you have a SOLID grasp of OOP with PHP and understand the MVC pattern. Then learn Laravel. Boom. * - iBones - Mar 18, 2013 Frameworks are a good way to learn how things are done. After you've mastered a framework like Laravel or Symfony, try going framework-less with your new knowledge. (If you don't know what a front controller is, USE A FRAMEWORK) |
