My sobriety - Nerdi - Mar 21, 2013
Today, at work, I looked at my phone and noticed the date. It's the 21st. One month away from my birthday, and the official milestone of 7 months of sobriety.
I quit using drugs because it simply wasn't fun anymore and the people around me started using heroin and meth - The whole fun aspect went away. That was over a year ago - I don't know the specific date, but it hardly matters anyways. It isn't hard for me to not use drugs.
I stopped drinking 7 months ago because I was kicked out of my dream college for it. After I was kicked out I went to a 'sober living home'. The house was simply a halfway house for non-cons.
I feel good today, knowing that I've been sober for 7 months. I've been sober for longer, but it was always a struggle. This seems so easy - it's simple.
I live with a friend who drinks frequently, and there's booze around me all the time. I guarantee there's liquor in the freezer right now, but it doesn't bother me or tempt me at all. It's actually kind of weird how non-tempted I am. It's very unusual.
Anyways, I thought I'd share that here - Perhaps it will inspire some of you, or simply be forgotten.
