Do i need malwarebytes to remove malware? [ SOLVED ] - ∑clipse™ - May 5, 2013 Can i use Antivirus to remove malware or do i need Malwarebytes for that? I am using Bitdefender Total Security. Also, do i need any other special antiviruses to protect my computer? Whenever i use chrome nothing loads after 10 seconds and my whole computer freezes.. ideas? I think it's because parts of the files for Chrome got corrupted when my PC shut down unexpectedly so I think i'd need to uninstall it. Thanks. Note: Solved guys. I re installed my chrome and it worked. It was corrupt which caused my pc to freeze. Thanks for the helpful answers ill try malwarebytes!. * - Shekhar - May 5, 2013 You can try scanning with MalwareBytes. Its is surely powerful for threats. * - Corso - May 5, 2013 I use BitDefender as well (right now at least, testing it out)... I'd recommend you have Malwarebytes installed and just use the free version as a secondary scanner. Think of it this way, if something DID slip by your AntiVirus then it's nice to have something like MWB to be a secondary defense/scanning agent to verify your systems clean. Now for the chrome! Run these programs to see if they will help clean up your chrome for any injections or poor quality/adware softwares... Junkware Removal Tool (JRT) AdwCleaner (Click on Delete button when program loads) Please update the post/thread if you have any further issues, questions or if this has been resolved. Thank you. * - phybeя - May 5, 2013 I would definitely recommend having Malwarebytes alongside an anti-virus. * - LulzProdigy - May 5, 2013 I have Avast AV running on my computer, however, I have a copy of MalwareBytes on my computer just in case it's needed. I mainly use Avast for real-time because of the shields it has. If I want to scan, I use Malwarebytes. * - Nyonic - May 6, 2013 (May 5, 2013 06:53 PM)LulzProdigy Wrote: I have Avast AV running on my computer, however, I have a copy of MalwareBytes on my computer just in case it's needed.
