Possible to prevent skype account from being jacked? - White Knight - May 12, 2013
So my previous Skype account was jacked 3 times by a guy I never met from a Maplestory Private Server....trust me shit goes down fast on those servers people ddos all the time and more..anyways I was wondering if it is possible to prevent it.I dont know how he did it but he got my info within a minute or less then changed my email and pass. So is there any way I can prevent this?

Don't add anyone that you don't know and don't keep lots of friends on your list.

Sign up with fake info, have Skype use a proxy/VPN to mask IP, don't add anyone you don't know, etc... Skype isn't that secure, think about grabbing XMPP to do any deals/serious items though.

Don't deal via skype unless you really trust a person. And yes, skypes security is just terribly poor.

Take a look at some tutorials about how to stay anonymous on the internet. And as people above said, skype's security is very poor so the only possibility is signing up with false information and using a VPN.
Also don't write your name in your signature, in forums or anywhere else, visible to everyone.
Keep your skype private and only give it out to people you know.
