How secure is a tor hidden service? - pxlhxl - Jun 27, 2013 So I know some people who know some people who are setting up a tor hidden service. In this case they are setting up a forum to communicate over. In this case the forum is there to fight corrupt government officials (not in eu or usa). How secure is this? How easy is it for a government official to find out where the tor hidden service is hosted? Reason Im asking is that the hidden service might be running on a dedi server where there is a paper trail. I told this person that they should disable the server mailing anything as that might reveal its identity. not sure what else can be used. Server is running on lighthttpd (cause apache leaks data) and smf for the forum software Just wanna let my friend know how safe or not it is. * - Spoofed. - Jun 27, 2013 As far as I am aware, Tor is one of the safest things out there, always use it with a VPN and don't look at things that WILL get you arrested, because there is always a way. * - pxlhxl - Jun 27, 2013 (Jun 27, 2013 09:10 AM)Spoofed_SYN Wrote: As far as I am aware, Tor is one of the safest things out there, always use it with a VPN and don't look at things that WILL get you arrested, because there is always a way. This is stuff that can get people killed.
