Need advice on what can hold 10k+ bots. - mittutittu - Jul 5, 2013 I'm thinking Andromeda but does anyone else have any suggestions? * - 188372 - Jul 5, 2013 Andromeda is great. But maybe you could go with an irc based botnet. the puplic aryan source is great if you find the good sources. * - Steve Mcgarret - Jul 5, 2013 Athena IRC, can hold up to 20k bots. * - KFC Watermelon - Jul 5, 2013 (Jul 5, 2013 09:51 PM)Steve Mcgarret Wrote: Athena IRC, can hold up to 20k bots. Pretty sure it depends on the server, not the bot. And because your $20/lifetime irc spot has a 20k channel limit doesn't mean you can load up 20k and it be stable. * - Nεθη - Jul 6, 2013 (Jul 5, 2013 09:06 PM)188372 Wrote: Andromeda is great. Also IRC does not hold more connections, its all about how big your server is that determines that, it has nothing with the bot. Any bot can claim to hold 50k bots but you will need a good VPS to do it. But you should go with andro HTTP. * - Casual - Jul 6, 2013 The bot doesn't determine how many bots you can hold. It's all about your server. If you are going to be starting a project for 10k+ bots, be prepared to pay a pretty penny for good offshore hosting. * - Proxseas - Jul 6, 2013 Well, if you are looking for a starter package Asciidigital is cheap and they won't suspend you for hosting a botnet on their servers! I'm paying $25 a month and im holdin 2.5k bots on it🤝 * - mittutittu - Jul 6, 2013 Thanks everyone for your replies, it seems i'm going to have to fork out quite a bit for hosting but i am cool with that. * - Flowz - Jul 6, 2013 It depends on both the software and the server. If the software isn't optimized to what it should perfom then your server isn't going to work optimal. Some software tips: - Use nginx in combination with Apache - Modify the nginx configuration to your needs, also change the Apache configuration if needed. A tip: sometimes the MySQL server will block because of too many open connections, this is especially common when running a bitcoin-miner-proxy - Make sure the software you are running, especially the PHP code is optimized. A lot of memory can be saved if done properly. For the server-side: - the first worry of mine is always bandwidth, take enough bandwidth. I find this the most important one because this is actually your only limitation. You could be able to run a 10k botnet on the most shittiest server, as long as you have enough bandwidth and an very big "knock -time". - Get a server with enough memory, for big networks, take atleast 4GB. The amount of CPU's on the system also play a role, take one with a good clock rate and try to take as much cores as possible. * - #REAL♥ - Jul 6, 2013 (Jul 6, 2013 04:11 AM)Panicy Wrote: Well, if you are looking for a starter package Asciidigital is cheap and they won't suspend you for hosting a botnet on their servers! OMG I hope this is a troll ... or u the stupiest guy I've ever seen. * - anonpleb18 - Jul 6, 2013 Why would anyone recommend irc? If you use irc you might as well just give your bots away. I hate it when skids think they know things about botnets |
