The example text is a font called Trend Sans. There are many different weights - this was "One".

Yeah, I figure breaking things down into simple technique tutorials are helpful for more people than longer complex tutorials.

Yea, I mean I knew how to do shadows, but when you read something it helps to refresh your mind every now and then.
