Using WYSIWYG Editors? - ffgg - Aug 26, 2013

Iam new into programming.
I know basic html,css,php.
My question is, is it better to create a webpage by scratch and tipping all the code into the editor or is it better to use a WYSIWYG Editor?
And if I should use a WYSIWYG Editor, which you would recommend?

If you want a WYSIWYG editor, go with webs.com.

It depends how good you are. If you know what you are doing and what the outcome of each attribute you change will do then you won't really need WYSIWYG. However if you are new then that would be the best option so you can quickly see what changes do.

It's better to code it. WYSIWYG editors add a lot of junk code and use bad practices in 99.9% of cases, plus the pages made with them will be slower.
If possible, you should learn to code. If you don't care about standards or performance, just use something like dreamweaver.

If you use a content management system like wordpress, joomla, drupal, ect.. you will avoid a lot of headache. There is no reason to re-invent the wheel. - I highly recommend you look into studiopress for professional turnkey solutions for web design. There are tons of plugins for all of these CM's available, even those that give you Real time WYSIWYG editing on your webpage if you so wish to use. (which is kind of the whole point for a content management system to begin with) except to not build it local - to basically have the ability to do all the web design and updates from your browser window. - I prefer Wordpress, and despite what others might say, it is easily secured with a few preventive measures.

What şlєιĝнŢ ๐ƒ н∆ηĐ said. If you are looking to use a CMS or something then go with Wordpress and get a nice theme. Plenty of free ones and you could edit it how you like.
