Changing to MAC - Fabulou5 - Sep 18, 2013 Hello there, Could i install Mac OS on my laptop? I'm using windows 7 ultimate for now. Laptop's specs: Processor Intel® Pentium® processor P6200 clock speed : 2.13 GHz 3rd level cache : 3 MB Front Side Bus : 1,066 MHz Memory (RAM) 4GB 1333 MHz DDR3 Graphics ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470 512MB For more info use the following link: http://www.toshibamea.com/ComputerProduc...7?pageid=4 P.S I'm posting the same here because nobody answered me on Mac's forum. * - dbzdivik - Sep 18, 2013 Maybe it shouldn't work as I installed Mac on My Toshiba Satellite C665 SinglecCore but it didn't work great you can try if you have windows to install again if not work.. * - Aura - Sep 18, 2013 This thread is not the right section. You should go post this in the Hackintosh subsection of the OS X section. This section is specifically for these questions. * - criticalslam - Sep 19, 2013 http://www.hackintosh.com/ - However it takes quite specific hardware * - Polymath 1.0 - Sep 19, 2013 Short answer is NO you can not install an Apple released MAC O/S on your PC, it requires specialized hardware and firmware. You can run it as a Guest O/S in a Virtual Machine under a Windows/Linux/Unix Host O/S or attempt to run an older and dated, highly modified Apple O/S called OSx86 http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/Main_Page Personally I'd just use any of a number of Unix and Linux distros that have a Mac GUI look and feel. After all the Apple operating system is a certified UNIX O/S with just the Apple Finder front end. Take care * - Blackjack - Sep 20, 2013 Considering the fact that your laptop is, well, a laptop, your motherboard is likely not compatible with Mac OS. Also, @Polymath, OSx86 is not outdated whatsoever. It's the latest version of MacOS with a program that you run to apply a few patches and drivers. * - Silvester Norman - Sep 20, 2013 I also found installing a MAC OS difficult but with this link http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3910 it is easy to install MAC OS on computers. Try you will definitely able to install it. He wants to install Mac OS on a normal "PC," not on a Mac, Also, Mac is not an acronym, it is an abbreviation of "Macintosh." Don't capitalize all 3 letters in it. |
