Due to the recent spamming by a competing forum, I think that it would be wise if the online display for Staff Members was turned off. That way, they cannot know when all the staff members are offline and hence, when to spam. They have an increased chance of spamming when one is online, and as a result, being swiftly dealt with.

It's a valid suggestion, but there are some logistical problems involved. I feel like these spammers are watching the profiles of the staff and administration until no one is online, then commence spamming.
Still, it's plausible.

Most of the Staff members have it where only UB3R's can see them Online.

The idea is nice, but how will legitimate members know which Staff member to send a message to? No one wants to wait hours for a response, especially when Staff are online and could answer it with brevity. I wouldn't mind seeing it go either way, they both have their pros and cons.

It wouldn't be hard to figure out the time zones that each member is in if so desired. Competing forums are not succeeding, so I don't see that much of a problem.

That's the problem. They have an HF account marketplace. That will not prevent them. They have access to the Ub3r usergroup.

People don't need a response instantly. Staff members are volunteers and it could kill two birds with one stone: preventing PM spam immediately when they get online, and increasing the chance of competing forum spammers spamming when a Staff member is online.

I don't know if I support this or not. But the spamming, ban evading, and multi-accounting of people advertising vip HF has got to be stopped.

I havent seen the spamming of that forum is AWLAYS from non-upgraded accounts - It'd be smart to remove it from non upgraded with less than 400 posts
The staff are pretty well spread out tbh, there's at least one member on for around every 1-1.5 hours

I agree with this, but what if you need to contact a staff member, how will you know who's online to contact them if something legitimate is going on?

well just saying since you been here for 3+ years, i dont think you realize its been happening (competitive hacking forums ) spamming on our sections and threads all the time. This suggestion is not needed.

They will spam either way. Im not saying i am going to but maybe a little payback will stop them from spamming here.
What i mean is PM the admin there while creating account tell them if you keep spamming HF we will keep spamming you and i guess just spam them til you get a reply.
But then again that would make us look childish so probably no.
