They are 1Gb, and they do not come with DDoS protection. Although, I have thought of making it an add-on to get DDoS protection, but it probably won't be cheap.

The reason BlackIceHosting didn't last, is because barely anyone bought anything, so I'd be losing a lot of money if I kept it up. I believe no one bought from BlackIceHosting, actually.

I can vouch for this great service!! Servers are very fast and cheap, the website run smooth and is easy to navigate. I have a 1GB server from slicehosting and it runs really well. I get no lag at all (and i live Australia) :D
