I have no clue what you just tried to say there. Can you please use proper English, as in no misplaced modifiers?

It sounds like
A) you want to change your MAC address
B) Something about a textfield? Are we talking about javax.swing?
C) It probably is going to be complicated

Yeah, but I can't understand what you are trying to say.

He's saying that he wants to be able to change his network adapter's mac address to the contents of a Swing component called JTextField, what's so hard to understand about that?

I doubt you're going to be able to do this without it being OS dependant. I know you can do it using the registry, and you might be able to do it by executing commands through Runtime.

It is pretty hard to do something like this in a non "hackish" manner, but I believe you could do it by getting runtime. I would recommend using a language like C++ to do this as it gets closer to the actual hardware and the network adapter.

The only way to do this is changing the registry, that I know of anyway. Have you looked into that?

Yeah there are a couple of methods that come to mind:

1. Use a native method to accomplish this through C or C++ (OS dependent)
2. Use Runtime (only works for linux) call like ifconfig device down.. and then other things..*
3. There is something in the registry that i can't remember (ask on stackoverflow)

There is no simply method for changing mac address.

You could use: http://devices.natetrue.com/macshift/ and a runtime command method to accomplish this, though.
