OmniCoin Mining Tutorial (Solo Guide) - OICN - Dec 12, 2013 This Guide Is kind of outdated at this point in Omnicoin's Life, To get the most coins you should pool mine or switch to pool if you are currently solo mining unless you have a very high khash rate. Best Of Luck to You Al! :) I have received a few pm's from members trying to start mining Omnicoin (I don't mind helping :D ). I have pmed them back a quick tutorial I have written and figured might as well post it for people who are getting started. Will try to update/maybe add pictures once I get some sleep but hopefully this can help get you started :D _Tutorial_ 1st. Download the wallet from https://hackforums.net/showthread.php?tid=3923174&pid=36914259#pid36914259 2.Open and let it sync. I assume your windows so Open up C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Roaming Easy especially if you are on windows 7 just search %appdata% You then create a text file and ente rpcuser=omni rpcpassword=omni addnode=192.241.154.95 rpcport=43555 server=1 daemon=1 and save as omnicoin.conf it shouldn't be a text file, should just have a blank icon. Then if you have cgminer or another miner skip to next step, if not download a miner, I prefer cgminer (If you new to mining use - http://guiminer.org/guiminer-scrypt.html and just plug in the information to use :) ) Update link - for cgminer, the offical release is a non-compiled version so here is the original compiled one :) http://ge.tt/api/1/files/5MKMAQ91/0/blob?download Open another text document in the cgminer or other miner folder Enter cgminer.exe --scrypt -o 127.0.0.1:43555 -u omni -p omni -I 15 -g 1 -w 512 --thread-concurrency 24550 --gpu-powertune 20 You may have to bring the I 15 lower if you have a less powerful system, copy and paste that line into .txt file and save as whatever.bat Other settings might need to be tweaked for you, I just copied what I was testing the coin with. (this part got deleted last time I edited- Those settings are mine for my card, it's best to go to https://litecoin.info/Mining_Hardware_Comparison and find your card and use those settings Needs to end in .bat and should change to a gear icon. Now open .bat file. If you did everything correctly you should be mining :) Hope that helps. Hope I didn't miss anything but very tired right now so hopefully someone can post if I missed something etc :D 🤝🤐🤝 * - Ubernoob - Dec 12, 2013 Hey what would be a common solution when cgminer sais --scrypt: unrecognized option..
