Updates fail to install after format plus fresh install of Windows. - nrv1l - Dec 26, 2013

hi guys, I've recently decided to format my HDD, simply because the computer felt sluggish and was just more of an annoyance than anything. I wish I hadn't now, but can't change it. I've reinstalled a legit copy of windows vista and allowed the updates come up like usual. I download and install, but about half of them fail to install.
(Updates failing)

So, I decided to find a copy of Windows 7 to give a shot, but for some reason the bootable disc that I tried to create using IMGburn doesn't seem to work. I'm pretty much annoyed at this point.

Anyone know why my Windows Vista is failing to update? Is it a registry issue? Before I format my HDD I got the bluescreen 'Physical Memory Dump' issue like two times. Is it a registry issue? Is the registry part of the motherboard or windows files?
(this is what happened before I format.)

Any help would be much appreciate. Thanks<3!

It might be an issue with your RAM, is the BSOD occured when you tried to write to your memory when it was read only.
How is your RAM set up in your computer ?

It's just two vertical sticks of RAM, clipped in to the motherboard. If that is what you're asking?

I mean, try to replace them and check if the error is still present. If it is, try to leave only one bar of RAM. If it fails again, leave the other one and try. You could also run a memtest86+ test to test your RAM.

That's the computer build.

I haven't had the Bluescreen since I've format, but you're saying the RAM could be causing an update issue? THen again when I go to some websites the computer freezes for a little before actually loading, then I get a 'script run error', but I take it that's java not being updated/installed.

Yes as you might have a faulty RAM bar. These tests will help determine if the problem is the RAM or not.

I'll go ahead and try each stick by themselves and see if the updates still fail. Appreciate your help.

I tried to install the updates with only one stick, tried for both. Seven updates still failed to install
Failed 7 updates: Error(s) found.
Code 800B0100
Code 80073712
Code 8007000D

EDIT: I went ahead and installed Windows 7 Ultimate. Worked thus far and updates installed without any issue. I'm currently running chkdsk /B.
