MINECRAFT OG USERNAME FINDER
--

Hi guys I'm sharing with you today a simple OG username finder for free!
I'm giving away the binary and the source code. Feel free to do what you want with it (source code is a bit messy, sorry about that).
It works pretty well and I'll probably add some feature this week (proxies, ...)

Thats some really sloppy coding, One of the first things i spotted was thread.abort, you never ever call thread abort. "The world is about to explode what else can we do" is only when aborting a thread should be used.

Take this, Dim ThreadsArray As New List(Of Threading.Thread) how is this an array? and why is it starting with an upper case t? Some One at the level of using the request class and action(of delegate should know camel casing. Your problem is like most here you spend to much time worrying about how a UI looks using a theme(thats coded with strict off) before worrying about learning basics.

Oh and how to learn threading? How do you expect to pass data at entry method.... Thats wrong.

'Public Sub New(start As System.Threading.ThreadStart)': Method 'Private Sub MYWebrequest(PSEUDO As String)' does not have a signature compatible with delegate 'Delegate Sub ThreadStart()'.INECRAFT OG NAME CHECKER\frmMain.vb 48 17 MINECRAFT OG NAME CHECKER

Or since we are targeting 4.0 use 4.0 methods

Sometimes I like when you actually post. If you decide to state your case and prove your point, and even show a better solution, I like it. Good job Ident

It is more destructive to the community when members who are beginners them selfs post tutorials. New members wont know if they are wrong and will follow bad examples.

I mean take this for example. The OP creates a thread to start a loop of threads. Whats that twenty items, would take about 0.00005 of a second to process that. Threading is a technical solution, what solution would threading solve here?

Question(s) For Ident: In 4.0 is the isBackground property either deprecated or does it just default to true? And I'm a bit unsure on the exact definition of the isBackground property as the MSDN isn't very informative. I take it a Thread with isBackground set to 'true' is stopped when the calling assembly closes right?

By default all threads are created as foreground threads. If you want it as simply as possible about the difference. A Background thread still active wont force the application not closing.

Also a question I have, as I've seen you use a Task (System.Threading.Tasks) in a thread to complete some actions. The StackOverflow responses I've seen when the question has been asked before don't have any usage examples. What is the proper application of a Task versus a Thread? The difference I've noticed in terms of methods and properties at least is that there is no isBackground property, and to 'end' a Task you need a cancellation token to control it, and monitor when the token changes.

I have to say your using a sexy theme :) Looks like it does the job great.

I said my source code was messy and yes it can be far better. So thanks a lot for your tips, I will try to change my code and make it more clean :)

I used threads because some people may try to sort a huge list.
