Is this really acceptable, HQ behaviour? - d4rkj4y - Jan 6, 2014

I am reasonably active in the C/C++ section, and programming sections in general. It has come to my/many members concern that a member who has never been in the section before has completely copy pasted internet material and reformatted it into HF design, the evidence I have created is here:

http://pastebin.com/bbZzSptQ

The offending thread is here: https://hackforums.net/showthread.php?tid=3715265

The user clearly does not give a shit about the quality of the tutorial, he only cares about his "awards" - hence his signature and responses to me and many members complaining about the thread.

The only recognizable input OP has into the C++ thread is false as well.

What makes it even more pathetic is this statement here:

Quote:Thanks for taking an interest in the basics of C++, and I hope you liked the read. Below are the main sources that were used, to check and confirm my knowledge.

It is a direct copy paste from the websites, NOT a confirmation of knowledge, pretty sure that's plagiarism.

If the offending member is reading this thread, then feel free to defend your case, if not I would like to see this leeched LQ tutorial removed - at least de-stickied.

If not, then I may begin my rampage of copy pasting tutorials in every single HF section (that I'm not active in) and get my "buddies" to request a sticky so I get an award as well.

There's a distinct difference between being HQ and a leeching award whore skid.

There is solid proof posted in the thread itself.

OP, contact staff. 🤝

This has already been posted, at least once.

Yes I will contact staff.

@Fox, you were that guy's "friend" who recommended the sticky, very HQ member you are.

Click the button report this post. And a staff member will look at it.

I recommended it when I didn't know it was plagiarized, and thanks, I always do my best to stay HQ as possible. Have a nice day.

Just PM'd a staff member now, I shall close this thread in the meantime.

Haven't heard back from staff, so this is being re-opened

Omni is the individual to contact in a situation like this.

I'm fairly sure Omniscient has already been told about this. Though, just because a tutorial is copy and pasted that doesn't necessarily mean it is not of proper quality. It does break the rules though, as it is leeched content.

Thanks for telling me.
