Jailbreaking your iPhone after OTA Update - Rexagon - Jan 9, 2014 Ok so many of you may or may not know that IF you have an iPhone that is updated to iOS 7.0.4 (or whatever iOS you have) and it was updated OTA (Over the air, meaning you clicked "Update" on your phone instead of connecting to itunes via your computer) then you will NOT currently be able to jailbreak your device. The fix for this is simple, if you updated OTA then you just need to go on your computer and download your iPhone's IPSW file for iOS 7.x.x - Afterwards you want to connect your phone via iTunes and SHIFT+Click the restore button (MAKE SURE TO BACKUP YOUR DEVICE FIRST), then locate and execute the IPSW. Wait for it to finish, then afterwards you should be able to jailbreak w/ no issue! Good luck, ask here for any questions. 🤝 * - Grin - Jan 9, 2014 OTA updates does not necessitate a boot loop. It just occasionally happens. In any case, what you're suggesting is in one way or another, a restore. Basically, what everyone suggested. * - Phobix - Jan 9, 2014 (Jan 9, 2014 03:14 PM)Grin Wrote: OTA updates does not necessitate a boot loop. It just occasionally happens. Thanks for suggesting we do something that every guide out there already mentions OP. * - Separate - Jan 9, 2014 (Jan 9, 2014 03:14 PM)Grin Wrote: OTA updates does not necessitate a boot loop. If you have nothing nice to say gtfo. * - Grin - Jan 9, 2014 (Jan 9, 2014 03:16 PM)SoundPiglet Wrote: Boot loop happened to me so I think it's the majority. Did I say that the majority does not encounter this issue? My iPad 2 OTA update 7.0.4 did not encounter a boot loop. My iPhone 4 did. Occasionally. In the sense that it's been reported. And who the fuck are you? Lmfao. Worthless threads like these with no new information deserve every ounce of negativity. If you don't like it gtfo retard. * - drugs - Jan 9, 2014 I just spent a ENTIRE minute reading this thread... Just saying "restore" would've sufficed. * - strongboy54 - Jan 9, 2014 (Jan 9, 2014 01:59 PM)Rexagon Wrote: Ok so many of you may or may not know that IF you have an iPhone that is updated to iOS 7.0.4 (or whatever iOS you have) and it was updated OTA (Over the air, meaning you clicked "Update" on your phone instead of connecting to itunes via your computer) then you will NOT currently be able to jailbreak your device. Wait.... I updated OTA to 7.0.4 and jailbroke my iPhone 4S without any problems? I still have very little problems with it except compatibility problems and hiccups I have created myself. I jailbroke it around the 20th of december I think it was. * - Rexagon - Jan 9, 2014 (Jan 9, 2014 06:40 PM)strongboy54 Wrote: Wait.... And to all of you saying "fuck off this is useless" can stop post whoring by repeating the same damn thing. Every one of y'all keep repeating "This has been posted numerous times before" just in various ways. It's stupid, gtfo. |
