BREAKING NEWS: Central Bank of the Russian Federation Bans Bitcoin - ๖ۣۜApocalypse - Jan 28, 2014 Looks like Russia went ahead of China on this. I'm pretty sure they would ban all cryptos, not just bitcoin. * - fxcore - Jan 28, 2014 Yea idd who give a fuck about banks. U can still trade your money for bitcoins and bitcoins for money. Will not affect anything. * - Karuo - Jan 28, 2014 Who the fuck gives a shit? This is all BS. * - Focusal - Jan 28, 2014 In Russia, BITCOINS BAN YOU! Other than that, it is just Russia. Personally, I am waiting for North America/South America and China to legalize bitcoins as a legit currency to any store. * - Cha0 - Jan 28, 2014 (Jan 28, 2014 04:48 AM)BitMoney Wrote: Litecoin is not banned anywhere so move on with LTC. Quote:it seems our presumption was correct as the press release from the Central Bank of Russia is hostile against the use of Bitcoin and other digital currencies. "and other digital currencies." The title of your thread is completely ridiculous by the way. Quote:The Bank of Russia has warned that Russian legal entities providing services for exchanges of cryptocurrencies in rubles and/or foreign currencies, as well as for services and products, will be considered possibly involved in the implementation of suspicious transactions… That's not at all the same as 'banning bitcoins' All they did was releasing their views on cryptocurrency. It probably does mean that people using cryptocurrencies in Russia could now considered a possible cyber criminal.. (Jan 28, 2014 05:13 AM)fxcore Wrote: Yea idd who give a fuck about banks. Of course it does... how do you plan on trading your bitcoins for money without a bank? * - Rsynced - Jan 28, 2014 It doesn't matter because the banks can not control bitcoin. Screw the banks. Who wants to cash out to russian currency anyways? Thankfully US banks are smart enough to understand they can make a profit off of cryptocurrency. * - htmnilc - Jan 28, 2014 It doesn't matter, infact this was exactly to be expected. It still doesn't stop people simply putting their money into bitcoins through other methods. If Russia want to seperate themselves from what is coming in the world of Cryptocurrency's. Then that's their fault. BitCoins will survive, as for the rest. It's not a case of worrying about the banks, it's a case of waiting to see which Cryptocurrency survives all of these tests and becomes the central crypto. * - OG Gangsta - Jan 28, 2014 I forgot where is was, but it was some bank site written in Russian. It stated that the use of crypto currencys is TOO anonymous, and they have linked it with crime and terrorism. So if you use it there, you will be deemed a terrorist. This is a wide margin to say. They stated "Bitcoins" a few times, but they made it clear that crypto currencys in general were banned. * - Viralboost.io - Jan 28, 2014 (Jan 28, 2014 11:08 AM)OG Gangsta Wrote: I forgot where is was, but it was some bank site written in Russian. You ment this : http://cbr.ru/press/PR.aspx?file=27012014_1825052.htm * - HIGH PAID FELLA - Jan 28, 2014 Russia doesn't matter. Later in the Netherlands (and hopefully in Belgium) you can pay in stores with Bitcoin, read that online on a dutch newspaper. (www.hln.be) * - JustHayden - Jan 28, 2014 Think of these countries as buy and sell walls. Every time a central bank or Government warns or bans Bitcoin, we smash through a wall that will never erect again, losing some value each time, but the trip from wall to wall bitcoin regains it's value and eventually there won't be any walls left to decrease it's value. After the "China wall" on January 31st, Bitcoin will skyrocket to about $2k like my earlier predictions. * - Broda - Jan 28, 2014 Looks like it had absolutely no effect: http://preev.com/ |
