How to make a Runpe Module ? - revtorus - May 5, 2010
Hi All ! ^^
First of all i wanna thank all of you guys who really helped me a lot !!!
In order to make my own Crypter ( Scantime + Runtime ) i already code the encrypting methods functions ( Rc4 , XOR ) and i also add EOF command ( End Of File ) but i block in coding the Runpe Module T_T i have seen some Runpe codes sources but they are so messy that i can't inderstand a thing x') exemple ( Private const HSBGFDQBHDJKHS as long ) and i cannot see this fonction in the module etc ....
So i was wondering if someone can help me with tips/Tutorials that help in creating a Runpe Module
I'm looking forward for your answers

This wont help him, he's trying to understand how a runpe works and he wants to make his own. Plus the RunpeGen would him give stuff like "Const as Long = asdaskdjashdiauzwq9kas" again... useless. Apart from the fact that he's coding in VB6 and you're link is including just a vb.NET runpeGEN.
Search for a not generated but a original runpe without random strings to make it unique and then try to get a clue of how it works... yeah easier said than done :P, i mean debugg it and set breakpoints and look at the stuff while its in action, then you might get a clue on how it works.
I dont know what VB6 looks like and what you can do with it or what options you do have but try to do what i said and it might help you ;)

Well, it would probably be valuable information but there are so many working ones out there, so it wouldnt have any value other than the educational one (Not saying thats a bad thing, coding to learn is great!) :)
But if hes doing it for the thrill of the coding, like i often do - then whatever floats his boat!
I love using advanced applications i made myself :)

No, making a RunPe Generator is easy if you have a normal runpe, you can code your own Generator even without knowing how a runpe itself works.
He wants to learn how to make a single RunPE.
And i dont know if there are any VB 6 RunpeGENs but anyway we're not talking about generators.

I think that learning how to code the RunPE yourself is the best choise .

Its not that hard to refud it you just need to know what to do. Just split the file first. The detected output and then scan and take a look at the detected parts. If that helps try to change that part in the source and compile it again. Do that until its undetected for a specific anti-engine.

I've also got the same problem coding in c# and done with the encryption and writing encrypted data to stub just need a runpe variant i can use to execute the decrypted exe. but honestly I'd rather learn it myself. So If anyone has an idea where i can get help or if you can offer the help yourself it'll be pretty awesome. i guess there should be like step by step functions I can follow to learn it on the long run.
