Poems topic has to be about love in a positive manner, such as falling in love or being in love.

Your poems do not have to me written in any specific style.

Plagiarism will be checked, and if you are caught you will be disqualified.

We require 100% unique poetry, if you wrote it a year ago you cannot use it. Write a fresh poem.

In a world full of dark thoughts, can I see the light?
Propaganda made me think that my future is bright
In reality I only see disaster in sight, but I realise as I write
That life isn't guaranteed, I might not make it back tonight
Life can be pain, scarring mentally. I want you before and after I die
But I feel you slipping from me, you might just be worth the fight

What is life?
Life can be beautiful, life can be joy
Trying to achieve my dreams: Wife, kids, a stable income from being employed
Like seeing a newborn baby with us, girl or boy
Perhaps seeing our ecstatic child after receiving a new toy

What is life?
Is it the truth, or is it a lie?
I found out the answer when I fought for you
Life is oh so gold, that life is actually truth
I saw the light, the opportunity, I chased it too
I done it for the connection of me and you

The cold wind slapped my face and awoken me, I discovered love
The hairs on my neck stand up from your touch
You are a blessing for me, sent down from above
A beautiful sight and a serene sound like a dove

The waves of compassion, crashing through you and me
Passion intertwined, we connect with such fluency
You’re priceless compared to diamond jewellery
Passion. Trust. Love. Ingenuity...
Life in the end is like you, something of rare beauty.

A man in a black coat came to me in a dream
And told me : "this time, it's the right one
I am defeated ; I shall be gone."
I had no idea what that man meant, and went through with my day
Next thing I know, you're shaking my world
Twisting my personality, dominating my thoughts
Altering my behavior, making me wish for more.
Did that man know of you, darling ?

My hatred is gone, my obsession is insatiable
It feels like being awaken from apocalypse which was nigh
Hopes are high, terror is gone
As we enter a new month, I love you even more.
Your smile is shy yet ruptures my fears
Your eyes are sad yet they shine when staring at me
Your touch is soft yet stole my heart
My soul is yours forever and evermore.

I will hold you in my arms, we will become one
Of mind, of soul, of body, of heart.
I will kiss your tender lips as you close your eyes
And we would sleep next to each other, holding hands together.
I'd make the lullabies sing about our tale
My dear princess,
I now write this poem not for nice rhymes
But to show my love and earn your own.
Indeed, I am madly in love with you,
Plagued by the madness of love, I cannot be without you.
Your presence comforts me, your idea warms my heart.
I find it hard sometimes to be with you, but I love every single one
Of these moments of anguish, because they lead to your veneration.
I vow to you, whatever it takes.

Is it wrong to love ? Should I resist ?
The temptation is too high, but I should not take the risk
If one does not love, how can he heal ?
Weren't you in my world, I would probably go crazy.
I don't dare to think of a world you don't exist in
It would be sacrilegious just to try to live in it
Not holding you ? Not seeing you ? Not wanting you ? Not loving you ?
This would be a massacre, one that I would not endure.

No mortal can match your beauty,
I cannot comprehend your kindness.
You sing like a goddess, Pallas Athena envies your voice.
Your eyes sparkle like jewels at sunrise.
Your tender voice shakes the hearts of
Proud eagles, glancing like thunder.
Your adorable smile gives birth
To small lightnings in my eyes.

So please, my dear Princess,
Accept from the man you saved from the abyss
This declaration of love ; you complete me.
A Valentine to you, I shall be.

No, yellow. No, yellows.
It rolls off your tongue like the last dew drop on the morning petals.
Ah, but that name is just a memory now.
Then again, wasn't it always?

I remember it like it was yesterday.
The way the oats and ice cream blended together in his bowl like a yin and yang.
Eternal bliss after every bite of the concoction.
He was certainly different than the rest.
Perhaps that was what I liked about him.

Or maybe it was his sense of style; or lack of?
Maybe it was his sense of humor; or lack of?
Perhaps his genuine personality; or lack of?
Himself. Or lack of himself.
See he wasn't just a pronoun used to describe his aura.

No, he was much more than that.
He was the very fire that burns inside all of us when we're alone and thinking.
His presence was ominous, yet inviting.
The breaths he exhaled were nothing more than pure ecstasy to those lucky enough to inhale them back in.
His embodiment alone was enough to make you question everything you thought you knew.

Red, blue, green, orange?
No, yellow. It was always yellows.
It will always be yellows.
But it will forever be much more than that.
Yellows.
