Portfolio website redesign (WIP) - +Aether - Feb 11, 2014
So I'm redesigning my portfolio website, this is what the header currently looks like:

The problem I'm having is that it's pretty hard to see the description text and the "See my Work" button. Any suggestions to fix this would be helpful. Also, the text on top left is a placeholder, I'm designing a logo later.

Why not put a black solid rounded rectangle shape beneath the text and lower the opacity a lot? Looks very clean, may I ask what you code mainly in?

Thanks for the suggestion. I code in HTML/CSS and add jQuery when needed.

Only problem is thats not your theme (I dont think) :P
Anyway try a red perhaps, or a more subtle background

Not sure what you mean by "that's not your theme". If you're trying to say that it's different from my avatar and sig, I just prefer to keep the two seperate :)

Some text is a little hard to read, I recommend lowering the opacity of the background image.

Thanks for the suggestion! And yeah, I noticed that the text was hard to read, which was why I was asking for suggestions on how to fix it. Glad you made a suggestion instead of just telling me the text was hard to read :P

It looks exactly like a bootstrap theme, thought it was that one

Yeah, the layout of the header is fairly typical in most websites, there's probably more than a few bootstrap themes that look like that. The about me / portfolio / contact sections will look different, I just haven't finished coding them yet.
Also, mind showing me the theme? I've never seen anything that looks exactly like what I'm designing.

EDIT: Closed, resolved the problem by photoshopping the image so it won't interfere with the text.
