(TuT) Moving Website to new host! - x0n - Feb 15, 2014 For those who doesn't know how, This might come in handy :)
0ne_Freed0m Easy way to move webstie to a New Host. #1 Create a new folder name it " old website " and connect to your old ftp and drag your website files into the "old website" folder we created on our desktop. ![]() #2 While our files are transfering to our desktop, we can go to our /phpmyadmin and make a database backup. Click on Export! ![]() #3 Follow the steps on the picture , And save the file .db (make sure you check the box Save as File) ![]() Nice almost done, Now we have our olddatabase.db saved. #4 Upload the website files saved at the "old website" folder created on desktop to your new webhost. ![]() Last step #5 Connect to your new /phpmyadmin and lets import the database we saved on step #3 ![]() #6 Remember to edit your configuration/settings file with the new database information You are now DONE! I would recommend either using a cPanel backup, or using the file manager in the cPanel to compress all the files into a zipped folder then download that, and upload it to the new host and extract it, and just manually move the database over as you described. But good work, should help some people. * - x0n - Aug 27, 2014 (Aug 26, 2014 09:36 PM)itzDecon Wrote: This is really only one way to do it, and it's also the slowest if you ask me.. Yeah you could do it like that aswell, thanks for the feedback :') -Your Friend 0ne_Freed0m 🤝 * - slєιgнŢ oƒ н∆ηĐ - Aug 28, 2014 Good job, Nice tutorial. :) I would like to add, that If you happen to be using wordpress, you'll have to modify the database to match your new URL. Although it's not that difficult, the duplicator plugin works awesome, and does all of this automatically. Here is a thread for those who may need it- https://hackforums.net/showthread.php?tid=3903754 * - Stealth V2 - Aug 28, 2014 Nice tutorial, wish I saw this awhile ago when I owned my forums. |
