Abnormally Colored Name - Bonfire - Feb 15, 2014 I was browsing HF, when I looked at the "Who's Online" list, and a user with a strange name had a dark-green color on their name. I don't know if its just me, but it appears to change the name color in the "Who's Online" list and in sections around the forum. I've provided some picture below for better understanding. I don't know if its me, or a myBB error. Pictures (Click to View) The users profile: https://hackforums.net/member.php?action=profile&uid=1594361 Don't know if I should move this to the "other" support section, I think its fine here but if someone in power wants it moved, that's fine. * - Crake - Feb 15, 2014 Not certain but I suspect it might be an ASCII character thing. * - RDCA - Feb 15, 2014 It's actually just an optical illusion which makes it look more dark. Both are the same color. Zoom in and you can see that, or inspect element and check their CSS attributes. * - Bonfire - Feb 15, 2014 (Feb 15, 2014 03:49 PM)RDCA Wrote: It's actually just an optical illusion which makes it look more dark. I'll wait for more replies to see if other people are getting it, I know that - Sam - isn't getting it. * - RDCA - Feb 15, 2014 (Feb 15, 2014 04:12 PM)Bonfire. Look, on your side (Assuming you have Google Chrome), click on his name and press Inspect Element. On the right you can see that the CSS color attribute is the same as all other L33t members. However, at certain level of size, due to the spacing, the color seems different. The user went offline, but I can almost assure you it is displaying the proper color, it just looks odd. Just wait till he comes back on and check for yourself. 😉 * - Crake - Feb 15, 2014 It also appears normal for me, but that SS is weird. * - Demoz - Feb 15, 2014 It is also normal for me. Regards, Demoz * - Carl Elias - Feb 15, 2014 When I simply replace another username who is l33t with his name I get this: ![]() I can't tell if it is as dark as yours, but it does seem to be off a little. I think he might have some special character. I simply went to his profile, and copied the name then pasted. Not sure why it looks like that. -Ty * - Fire - Feb 15, 2014 (Feb 15, 2014 04:37 PM)tyisobred Wrote: When I simply replace another username who is l33t with his name I get this:It's an optical illusion. It's impossible that the color would change depending on the username. Check the CSS attributes as another user posted. * - Crake - Feb 15, 2014 Weird one: #99FF00 Normal: #99FF00 Ok now I'm baffled. * - RDCA - Feb 15, 2014 I told you it was an illusion. Nothing more. If you zoom in significantly, you can see they are the same color. * - Carl Elias - Feb 15, 2014 (Feb 15, 2014 04:41 PM)Jaeger Wrote: It's an optical illusion. I might just be zoomed in more than he is. -Ty * - Dr. Pokey - Feb 15, 2014 I see this too, how peculiar. Perhaps he updated his username to that or he tried changing it to something else and got that as an error. * - YeAt - Feb 15, 2014 The name appears to be normal for me. * - 'An0ny - Feb 15, 2014 The usernames are not colored when you're browing forums. |
