[MyBB] Adding A Sidebar To Your Forum - • α∂∂ιcтιση • - Feb 17, 2014

This is just a quick tutorial to make a sidebar for your forum, you can use this to replace your toplinks or just to add extra functions etc.

To do so is simple, just do the following -

Navigate to AdminCP -> themes and templates -> your theme's templates -> footer templates:

At the start of the template, after the first <br/> and before the first <div id="bottommenu"> add this:

Code
<style type="text/css">
#followTab{
list-style:none;
position:fixed;
z-index:5;
right:0;
top:230px;
width:34px;
padding:8px 5px;
border:3px solid #fff;
border-right:none;
-moz-border-radius:10px 0 0 10px;
-webkit-border-radius:10px 0 0 10px;
border-radius:10px 0 0 10px;
-moz-box-shadow:0 0 7px rgba(0,0,0,.6);
-webkit-box-shadow:0 0 7px rgba(0,0,0,.6);
box-shadow:0 0 7px rgba(0,0,0,.6);
background:0 0 7px rgba(0,0,0,.6);
background:-moz-linear-gradient(top,rgba(0,0,0,.6),rgba(0,0,0,.6));
background:-webkit-gradient(linear,left top,left bottom,from(rgba(0,0,0,.6)),to(rgba(0,0,0,.6)));
background:linear-gradient(top,rgba(0,0,0,.6),rgba(0,0,0,.6))
}
#followTab li{
margin:9px 0 0 0;
line-height:0
}
#followTab li:first-child{
margin-top:0
}
#followTab a{
display:block;
width:24px;
}
#followTab a span{
position:absolute;
top:-999em
}
</style>
<ul id="followTab">
<li><a href="search.php" title="Search"><img src="images/toplinks/search.gif"></a></li>
<li><a href="memberlist.php" title="Memberlist"><img src="images/toplinks/memberlist.gif"></a></li>
<li><a href="calendar.php" title="Calendar"><img src="images/toplinks/calendar.gif"></a></li>
<li><a href="misc.php?action=help" title="Help"><img src="images/toplinks/help.gif"></a></li>
</ul>

You can edit the colors, images etc to suit your needs of course. It should look like this:
