Chipset fan loud! Need help - imahich2 - Feb 23, 2014 How do i turn this damn thing down i don't wana turn it off i can't find it in the bios i have a x79 extreme 11 * - archangel.dmitry - Feb 23, 2014 There is not much you can do. The board is known to be a bit noisy. If you are running on stock frequency, disconnect the fan and monitor the temperature of the board. * - Xult - Feb 24, 2014 What I would recommend is to search Newegg.com for a good deal on a more quiet fan to suit you. Otherwise if your fan is loud check it for dust because usually the fan will try to work harder heating up faster with dust on it. If you do have dust buy Canned Air to blow this dust off the fan and it should work better. But once again if your fan is just loud go to option 1 and just purchase a new one if it really bothers you. * - DataSaurusHex - Feb 24, 2014 WD-40 should help. bit of sparkle to it and is good * - Anshuman - Feb 27, 2014 You just have to get a new fan which do not produce that much sound. Check out ebay.in or your local stores. * - apetrov - Feb 27, 2014 Machine oil and perhaps a dust cleaner can do miracles. That is if the fan is old and used for a couple of months. * - m4gnumsnip3r - Feb 27, 2014 I would rather leave the fan noisy if it keeps the system cool. * - Nov - Feb 27, 2014 If you want to turn down fans then your best option is to download Speedfan. It will let you control your fan speeds. I have a similar problem with a fan. I reduce the speed of the fan from 100% to around 40 or 50% and it works wonders. http://www.almico.com/speedfan449.exe |
