[VB.NET]Add .Net Framework 4 with your application(UPDATED) - codepoet - May 8, 2010

Aurthur: Crow407

Ive seen members post download links for .net framework 4 with their applications. So i thought id show them and everyone else this quick tutorial on how to deploy .net framework 4 with an application.

Double click "My Project" in the solution explorer. Select "Publish" then "Prerequisites" and select the 2 options in the picture below. This will automatically install .net framework 4 on any machine that requires it , when the user installs the application.

Only thing is , if the .exe (Only) is deployed it wont work. So you need to find the "Publish" folder within the visual studio 2010 folder, and rar/zip it up. Once the user runs the "Setup" in this folder it will automatically install .net framework 4.

Awesome! So if I use that in my applications the users don't need to download it? It installs for them or something?

* - TehShrink - May 8, 2010

So this adds a installer for the .NET framework? Awesome, good tutorial.
