question about mtgox - Ross Geller - Mar 25, 2014 I honestly have no idea what's happening. I see mtgox is closed and everything, but I'm just wondering what you think, people who have btcs on their account, will they ever get them back?? * - Schultz - Mar 25, 2014 You will probably never see that BTC ever again. * - Stev - Mar 25, 2014 Well they currently won brief bankruptcy protection in the US as they currently are working on their case in Japan. However, a few days ago the CEO of Mtgox, Mark Karpeles, stated they found 200k missing bitcoins in an old wallet. So that brings the losses from 850k lost bitcoins to 650k lost bitcoins. I am not sure what they are going to do with the 200k bitcoins and I am also not sure if everyone's going to get their money back. But I honestly think no one is going to get their money back, maybe only a few big companies which had a substantial amount of bitcoins stored on their Mtgox account. But I think the average user will not get their money back. We'll just have to wait what the courts in Japan have to say about this. * - Ross Geller - Mar 25, 2014 Oh, well that sucks. Thanks for the replies. One more question, except blockchain and btc-e, what do people use to store btcs now? * - Schultz - Mar 25, 2014 (Mar 25, 2014 01:24 PM)Ross Geller Wrote: Oh, well that sucks. Like the BTC wallet or a multibit wallet. |
