Infected flash drive? - Obli - Mar 30, 2014 Greetings. I have formatted and reinstalled Windows 7. I have a flash drive of 8 gb, and I suspect it to be infected. Now, I have important stuff on that same flash drive, yet I do not want to infect my PC. What would you advise me to do? * - Aura - Mar 30, 2014 (Mar 30, 2014 05:47 AM)+Oblivious Wrote: Greetings. Create a VM and plug in your USB there. Select the option to disable the USB port from the host and allow it to the VM instead, this way, the USB is connected to the VM and not the Host. From there, proceed to analyze it's content. * - T e s s e r a c t - Mar 30, 2014 (Mar 30, 2014 05:47 AM)+Oblivious Wrote: Greetings. Perform Aura steps above, then specifically use what I sent you in the PM to analyze the contents of your flash drive. I will guarantee your safety after that. 🤝 It will rid your flash drive of infected files. Why do you suspect that it is infected? |
