[TuT] Prank -Windows Shutdown Shortcut [EASY] - Polaris - May 11, 2010
Firstly i would like to apologize to any admin(s), sorry i have no idea where to place this topic.
Hey guys, most of you would probably know this little trick, but i thought that i would go over it just to help people who want to play a small trick on their friend without getting in too much trouble.
Today i will be teaching you how to make a Windows shutdown shortcut, that when executed will shutdown the computer. i have included screenshots below if you require more help!
1. First go to the desktop and right-click empty space. move the cursor down to highlight the 'New' tab, and then click 'Shortcut'.

2. A browser will appear ask you to find the file you wish to shortcut. You will need to locate the shutdown.exe file in the system 32 folder, alternatively your can just copy this and paste it into the search bar.

3. We must now add a suffix to the shortcut to make it work. There are 3 types of suffix that can be added:
-s This is needed and will tell the computer to shutdown.
-f This forces all applications to close without warning
-t xx This will allow you to set a time limit to shutdown. (E.G -t 05 this will shut the computer down in 5 seconds)

This is an example of a command that will cause Windows to shutdown immediately: %windir%\System32\shutdown.exe -s -f -t 00
4. Lastly add a name to the shortcut, something other than Shutdown. maybe Triple Back flip...something that will appeal to your victim.

Done! now send it to your victim, and watch them log offline.🎉
For more authentic look, you can change the icon to a video or picture...but i wont go into that today.

He just couldn't start his browser..

Best way to take advantage of this trick is to make a shortcut to this on your friends computer while hes in bathroom or whatever. Make it say Internet Explorer or whatever then change the icon the Internet Explorer Icon. Lol.
