SMTP/POP3 mail server using batch - AcKel - Apr 21, 2014 Greetings, I was wondering how to send an e-mail from cmd using a batch code. Well I've made some researches and I've found that we need to install specific programs in the win32 folder in order to do that. Now considering that I do not want any extra programs to be installed, can I still make an SMTP or POP3 mail server and send e-mails. Let me give an example to more explicit : Code @echo offNow let's say I want to send an automatically email that contains %line1% and %line2% with a batch code in the same bat file of this last code here, is that possible ? In conclusion how to I set up SMTP server (or POP3) that works in every computer the bat file is opened ? Thank you in advance ✌ * - annikk.exe - Apr 21, 2014 Hi, there's a few different approaches to doing this, and none of them involve installing a program. :> First off, in pure batch, your only option is telnet which may or may not be installed on the machine (It comes with windows but its an optional component). You can also echo out to VBscript or Powershell to do it. Per example, Telnet comes by default with windows we just need to enable it. I've checked the code, actually it's very clear. The only part that I doubt is it only works for SMTP servers that do not require authentication. Anyway, I do not think that code is still useful for me, since I took the decision to make it with Telnet which I didn't want initially, and for the moment everything's working fine. Thank you for your answer and for your time annikk.exe. ✌ |
