[FIX] If your lagging on HF [FIX] - -Dartz - May 13, 2010

Recently, a few people have been experiencing much lag on HF, and this is due to the new servers firewall easily being triggered.

Firstly, you want to clear your cache's and cookies, and see if that fixes it. If it doesn't, read on.

When you're firewalled, you're firewalled by IP, so that means, change your IP and you shouldn't have the lag on HF anymore.

To change your IP
Method 1:
Step 1. Open command prompt.
Step 2. Type "ipconfig /release" and wait until the command is done executing.
Step 2.5. Wait a few seconds...
Step 3. Type "ipconfig /renew" and see if your IP has changed.

Method 2:
Step 1. Turn off your router.
Step 2. Wait 30 seconds
Step 3. Turn it back on, and see if you have a new IP.

Method 3:
Step 1. Open CMD.
Step 2. Type in "ipconfig /flushdns"
Step 3. Try accessing HF now.

Method 4:
Step 1. Go to google.com
Step 2. Search the appropriate phrase.

NOT EVERYONE CAN CHANGE THEIR IP!

If all else fails, use the contact form, and select "Firewalled."

Use this message

"Hello, I am firewalled from www.vuwin.com, and my IP is : xx.xx.xxx.xxx. Please remove it.

Thank you."

Thanks, I'll add that.

Will also add a part about using the "contact us" form.

Yeah I can't change my IP because I'm on a static modem but thanks for the awesome thread.

By whitelist, he means he doesn't block IP's from going on firewall.

IP's are blacklisted though, making the IP unable to access HF.

Whitelist = Prevents the whitelisted IP from going on the firewall list.

Everyone can change their ip :)
I'll post a method with Pics later , I know you all bitch "WE HAVE A STATIC IP!!! , IT CAN"T BE CHANGED!" , STFU!
I know like 5 people including myself who have a static IP and we're unable to change it till I found out a cool way to change it :)
You're ISP Assigns a IP to your computer , what if you appeared as a COMPLETELY NEW COMPUTER???? :D

I'm able to change my IP by changing the case of my isp login info.

Change "[email protected]" to "[email protected]". Every variation will change my IP to something else. I'm not sure if this works for ISP's other than my own though.

Well if you're on a router you probably cant replace/change mac adress for the router so the method you're talking about probably doesn't work then anyway. (Idk much about static IP's, when i bought my connection i specificly asked to not get one from my ISP.)

firewalled != lagging

firewall = not connecting at all

Technically, we're both right.

Due to the new servers, there are new firewalls.

If you trigger www.vuwin.com's firewall, HF will take about 2 minutes to load each page. Personal experience.
