Alternate uses for my BTC miner? - Rooftops - Apr 24, 2014
(This has nothing to do with mining BTC, otherwise I would've posted it there.)
So I have a 5-6 GH/s SHA256 miner from BFL that has paid itself off ages ago, but is practically useless now for BTC mining. I'm trying to figure out what to do with it. Most of the altcoins are scrypt which renders my little box useless, so I've come to two decisions:
1. Sell it
2. Re-purpose it for some other use
Problem is, I have literally 0 idea what it could be used for. Can anyone give me a little ELI5, or any suggestions on what to do with it?

Can't, Omnicoins are scrypt which is incompatible with the miner.

Random question: When did you bought the miner and how much was it? How many BTC did you earned back in the days mining was still profitable?

IIRC I payed $200 for my miner, and I made ~$700 over the course of about six months.
