QCrypter 1.0 - Message Encryption using Images - TheBarret - Apr 27, 2014 Well here it is my latest work the QCrypter. It is open source you may tinker, you may use, as long you will credit me for my work. Screenshots: ![]() ![]() Features: - Custom colors for pixel identification - Aes encryption The library works as follows: Declare the engine Code qc = New QCrypt.EngineAssign the key and generate the image with the message as parameter Code qc.Key = MyKey.TextTo retrieve the image: Code Picturebox1.BackgroundImage = qc.QImageTo resolve an image (and using the correct key): Code qc.Key = MyKey.TextQeustions and feedback welcome 🎉 - Barret Source download:Download * - Meerkat. - Apr 27, 2014 Why not more than 2 colors? It would decrease the image size a lot. This is not really a crypter either. * - TheBarret - Apr 27, 2014 (Apr 27, 2014 10:03 AM)Mavamaarten~ Wrote: Why not more than 2 colors? I agree but this what i wanted, and for that encrypter part, the name is borrowed from the well known Qr coding derrived to Qcrypter since it does use encryption to the embedded message. Any more critism? * - coolerfarmer - Apr 27, 2014 Seems to be nice! I'll test it out when I get home in a free weeks! * - hgdfhsdgdfgdfh - Apr 27, 2014 You really shouldn't be using the ECB cipher mode. Read: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/9039617/is-it-ever-recommended-to-use-the-ecb-cipher-mode Quote:If the data is very small (one block) and you're using both a salt and an IV, is it OK? You see the patterns on the image, leaking information about the input. Check the article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Block_cipher_mode_of_operation and scroll to the part with picture of a penguin. Check the second image from left. A mode like CBC would be much better suited for applications like this. Apart from that, good project idea and a nice contribution to the forum. * - TheBarret - Apr 27, 2014 (Apr 27, 2014 10:11 AM)0xDEADDEAD Wrote: You really shouldn't be using the ECB cipher mode. You could have a full blown project going * - iMeetYourMum - Apr 29, 2014 Why only 2 colors ?
