Sinus problem or worse? - Shadow Reign - Apr 30, 2014 About a week ago my right ear exploded in pain just out of nowhere. I was having sinus issues at that time but I think its more than that. When I was 14, the same ear had ruptured the eardrum. Im wondering if its happenin again. I can now barely hear out of that ear now, it still pops every now and then and causes slight pain. My nose is still stuffed so it may be sinus related. What do you think? * - Thangorn - Apr 30, 2014 (Apr 30, 2014 09:38 AM)--Syntax Error-- Wrote: About a week ago my right ear exploded in pain just out of nowhere. A ruptured ear drum is very often caused as a result of ear infection due to the pressure and fluid build up. I would recommend visiting a doctor as soon as possible, submerge your ear in lukewarm water to help reduce the pressure and hopefully the doctor would prescribe you some antibiotics and tell you to get some rest * - Shadow Reign - Apr 30, 2014 I dont have medical insurance. I put some peroxide in it but nothing is helping It may help with the infection as it kills bacteria but I strongly advise seeing a doctor as if it's an ear infection, you have fluid discharge or loss of hearing then you do need to consult a doctor with urgency. If you are adamant you will need to treat yourself, use the hydrogen peroxide dropwise in the ear and allow to settle for 10 minutes. Then tilt your head and wash out with water. Following this, a couple hours later use rubbing alcohol and put it in your ear dropwise and allow to settle then also wash out. Repeat the rubbing alcohol treatment every few hours and see if it helps. If the pain hasn't gone down by tomorrow please do see a doctor as the infection can do some serious damage if left untreated. * - Shadow Reign - Apr 30, 2014 Ok thank you! I just dont want to end up paying a huge bill if its not something serious but I guess if its not better in a day or two i'll have to go to the doc somehow. |
