Computer doesn't wake up from sleep mode instantly, takes few minutes - vtecm - May 7, 2014

I've been having problems with my computer for under a year now, where when I try to wake my computer from sleep mode it won't load up instantly, it'll wake after a few minutes.

I got a new hard drive and put my OS on that and still hasn't solved the problem.

Specs:

Windows 8 genuine
i7 3770k
ASRock Extreme 4 Z77
8gb Kingston 2x4GB 1333MHZ

It just might be because your computer has been asleep for sometime it just takes a couple of minutes to warm up.

Did you configure your Windows to go in sleep mode or hibernation mode ? It should be located in your Power Settings accesible via the Control Panel.

These are my power options for sleep.

It generally only happens after a long sleep otherwise it'll usually boot up instantly.

Turn off the Hybrid Sleep setting, that's the issue.

You know what ? I would run a chkdsk on your HDD just to see if it doesn't have any bad sectors that affects his performance and state when waking up from a sleep mode.

Code
chkdsk /r

Try that after doing or so

To fix the hibernation issue I suggest that you open elevated command prompt window with this command:

Code
Sfc /scannow

And then press enter.

If you like I can teamview you here and I can fix the problem. PM me credentials if you're interested.

I got no errors. Not sure why it's doing this. I've changed the HDD, graphics card and still happening.

Did you reinstall the operating system? You should try.

I tried already. I went from W7 to W8 then 8.1 still happens.

Did you run both the chkdsk and the sfc scan ?

You must run a system file check and a check disk. Before the check disk, however, I'd like you to try and perform this:

Open an elevated command prompt window then type:
Code
dism /online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

and then hit enter.

See if it fixes the issue.

Keep me el posted.
