Fear of asking for help on HF... - DaKila - May 15, 2014

Greetings,

I've had an account on this website for a while now and I really appreciate this forum the community within it. The only thing I'm worried about is asking about help on this forum. I think I feel this way is due to the fact that I literally have nothing to give back to the community since I've recently only started to learn how to code (getting my grips around Python but my development has been stunted since exams for school kicked in). I also have 0 reputation as well. It's not like I don't want to help out but I really have nothing in which would be of use to some.

So, my question to everyone is that should I never bother to ask for help to achieve something unless I am adequate myself in this aspect? I'm sorry if I posted in the wrong section as I really thought this was the right section to post.

How are you going to learn if you don't ask questions? There is no such thing as a stupid question. Ignore the haters.

Yeah but I feel like I'm just another user with barely any posts and 0 reputation asking for people to do 'work' for me. Do you really not see it this way?

The Computing area is really friendly. No matter what question you have, either me or another member will answer it without asking any questions. Real helpers on HackForums do it to give back to the community, help others or test their knowledge. If they expect you to give back or get back at them in some way, they're not real helpers and I suggest you to wait for another member to answer your questions. If you have any questions that are White Hat Hacking (malwares-sided) or Windows and General Computing-related, you can always come find me in the Computing area of HackForums.

PM me if you need any assistance of your required topic, don't be scurrrd.

Thank you very much for the encouragement. I'm still a bit nervy though but I won't be reluctant to ask for help anymore.

The purpose of forums is to discuss similar subjects with like-minded individuals and ask questions. You're encouraged to asked well worded and descriptive questions!

Clark.

I've asked help as well, but provided favors to others too (e.g clicking links or vote for something or such.).

It's giving and taking and in the end it's a win-win situation.
If anyone hates on you for asking something it says more about them and how they are.

Have a great time on HF kind sir 🤝

Clark.

Do you mean as long as my OP shows that I've clearly tried solve the problem myself and I am specific about what I want to know?

How old are you? it's the internet just ignore the fuckers and do your thing.

Community is pretty shit here too imho.

I mean try to refrain from questions that lack detail, and effort.

EX: I tried to set up my RAT but it's not workin' please halp!

Instead you could explain what you've done so far, and what you've tried to do to resolve the issue etc.

I'd have to disagree. When I needed help with Python the member "glob" added me on skype and walked me through tons of little projects and tests while explaining everything to me. The user "~Dec" has helped me with countless HTML/CSS questions, and the member "Aura" helped me with Malware removal along with helping me set up/run software that helps keep my PC clean and running smoothly. If you spend your time in the lounge, you will conclude this community as shit. If you go almost anywhere else you'll more than likely come to a different conclusion.

I see what you mean but I want help and I don't get it, then I'm stuck, right? I never found any genuine users who are assholes so that's interesting that you see things differently.

Ahh i see, other members are helping mainly other upgraded members for rep or because they don't want to spend time to other leechers/multiaccounters. (At least that's what i think)

Bumping your thread a couple times should work.
