I have access to over 150 computers. Wanna help me for a 50% share? - Mine4 - May 23, 2014

First of all, hello to you all! This is my first post. Unfortunately, my first post is a question, but I'll hope to contribute with my knowledge too in the future. Also, I'm not a native english speaker, so please excuse me any errors or grammar mistakes.

I work part-time at a university department as a project manager. The university has at least 150 computers (probably more, around 200-220, haven't checked all rooms). I would like to setup a small botnet especially for mining cryptocurrencies via a multipool. I will give you as much information about the infrastructure as I can:
  • They use GroupWise as mail/calendar/etc. tool

  • They use OpenVPN pretty often to connect to several network drives

  • They don't have software like HDGuard installed, permanent software installs are possible

  • Admin access on almost all computers is possible (almost all machines have only one user account which almost every time has Admin permissions)

  • They use AVG Antivirus on most of the machines, but often with manual updates that aren't done most of the time

  • They have average-grade computers with Windows 7

The optimum end condition would be that all these computers run silent CPU&GPU cryptocurrency miners via a multipool using maximum 20-30% computing power (maybe more from 11pm to 4am when nobody is there) to not catch any attention.

Physical access is possible, but very risky. It would be great if it could be installed remotely through the network.

Can anyone guide me through the process of finding network vulnerabilites, installing silent miners etc. to start mining on a botnet? I am willing to share 50% of the mining profit to anyone who is willing to guide, teach and help me through this time. It's a bit like a remote assistant job.

Thanks a lot in advance! :)

That is really stupid idea mate, they will see the network stress, and guess who will get the blame...

One post, definitely not a fed guys.

This could land you in prison easily for coorporate issues.
This isn't just fucking with a person, this is a rich legal institute your talking about, with professionals that will find you in a second.

So you think it would be exposed too quickly / the risk is too high? Is there a way to at least try it as anonymous as possible?

If I do it only over night for a few days at full computing power and then shut it down, it would still be a few free bucks and the risk wouldn't be that high. What do you think of that?

The fact that the OP is talking about a peer to peer network proves how ''proffesional'' their ''institute'' is....

The company has all in all pretty weak IT I think. Someone once had to edit something on their website. The admin password for the CMS they use was "password123".

Do you work as the staff at the university, or are you just a student?

Where does he says p2p it could easily be client server

I wouldn't recommend it, if the feds want you.. they'll get you. No matter how 'anonymous' you are. It's highly risky considering it's a institute you're messing with and not a single lan network.

150 computers?
omg man, you could take over the world with that man.

You can be the number one biggest hacker in all of the world.

* - Gunnadin - May 23, 2014

OP you're really stupid for even thinking about doing this. All of this will be traced back to you.

Did you even read the whole thing? It says Admin access on almost every computer.

Did you ever see a client server network where the computers have admin access?

Yea unless their ITers are really fucking stupid..

* - Gunnadin - May 23, 2014

Doing this could land you in jail for a long time. I'd say 100 years in prison for unauthorized access to 150 computers
