Symantec Antivirus - School Scene - Fizzer20 - May 17, 2010 Today I attempted to save a notepad 'command.com' as x.bat I was not allowed to run a .exe command. My next idea is to bypass / pause the symantec antivirus so I am able to run .exe files.. my goal is to install Steam and play Counter Strike Source lmao. Not looking to cause damage, just have fun in my free lessons haha, thanks 🤗 * - Fizzer20 - May 18, 2010 bumpbumpbumpbumpbump bumpbumpbumpbumpbump bumpbumpbumpbumpbump * - phybeя - May 18, 2010 Sounds sweet. Good luck! You can always run Linux :P * - Jayro - May 18, 2010 I dont fully understand what you are talking about. But can you open windows explorer and view the C:/ drive? If you so can go to program files and uninstall any software they have to stop .exe files. * - Fizzer20 - May 19, 2010 I am able to access the C:/ drive but only documents I have saved on it, all of the important files are in restricted areas I am not able to get into. * - m0n - May 19, 2010 Why would Symantec Antivirus stop you from installing and playing games? It's an Antivirus, it's purpose is to make sure no viruses are on the computer. * - 2 Cents - May 19, 2010 Lol our school is so strict we cant even access program files I'd love to be able to get passed that :P * - m0n - May 19, 2010 I see, what does Symantec Antivirus have to do with that? Wouldn't it be just user restrictions? Somehow get Administrator. Maybe boot in to OPHCrack with some rainbow tables ;) * - Genesera - May 19, 2010 What os are you running? Just bruteforce/reset/create a new local admin account... * - Q00 - May 19, 2010 (May 19, 2010 12:38 AM)Fizzer20 Wrote: I am able to access the C:/ drive but only documents I have saved on it, all of the important files are in restricted areas I am not able to get into. My school had the same set up, you couldn't access the C:/ drive where program files were kept. A few of us got round this by; right clicking on a program shortcut in the quick start menu (like Photoshop) and clicking find target, or 'open file location' for vista, this took us to the C:/ drive where the program files were kept, pretty basic but our school overlooked it :) Q00. |
